Member News: East Lancashire Apprenticeship Boost For Forbes

Forbes Solicitors has recently added five new East Lancashire based recruits to its Apprenticeships Programme.

Emily Catterall, Zoe Kennedy, Kathryn Morris, Jacob Bower and Katie Philips have all joined Forbes Solicitors and are currently working towards their NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration.  In total eight apprentices were recruited across the firm.

The apprentices undertake full time work and once a month attend off the job training at the Forbes’ in house training suite, internal assessors gain the work based evidence that is needed as part of the NVQ. The course is externally verified by Burnley College. The apprentices also benefit from internal training that is provided by Forbes which includes Touch Typing and Legal Text Processing.

Joanne Pickering, Director of HR, Training and Quality at Forbes Solicitors comments, “This is a unique programme developed in conjunction with Burnley College which enables young employees to gain their first work related qualification. Many of our apprentices have gone on to have successful careers within Forbes.

Olympic Games Disruption

We are all aware that the the Olympic Games are commencing, from 27th July to 12th August.

During this period we can expect a varied amount of disruption to our delivery service to the Arab Authorities especially when events are held near to their location. Until the games begin it will be very difficult to predict how disruptive things will be.

Therefore we advise you where possible to submit documentation to us at the earliest possible opportunity.

Not forgetting the Paralympic’s commencing 29th August to 9th September which may also cause disruption, but hopefully not to the same degree. We will of course keep you updated on these games nearer the time.

Working hours during the holy month of Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan will begin around the 19th July 2012 to 20th August 2012.

During this period all Embassies will have shorter working hours, Monday to Friday. Please be aware that due to this there may be a delay in documentation turn around.
