Member News: New Nursery School for QEGS

A new nursery school opens at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School for babies from the age of three months in September.

Situated in Brooklands House, West Park Road, the nursery, with an enclosed play area, provides facilities where growing up and learning are fun and prepares children to move into Elizabeth’s Junior school and beyond.

The Headmaster, Mr Simon Corns said:  “For many parents the logistical problem of getting children dropped off at a nursery before they bring their older siblings to school can be a nightmare. Our new nursery will provide the solution with excellent facilities and an easy drop-off point.

Throughout its 500-year history Queen Elizabeth’s has been answering the needs of parents and this is another such example. Having the opportunity to care for children all through their developmental stages will allow us to produce even more fine adults who go on to do great things in life.”

The nursery school is holding an open day on Wednesday August 8,  for parents to see for themselves the new facilities and to meet the nursery staff.  Anyone interested in the nursery school or the open day should contact the main school reception on 01254 686300 or email admissions@qegsblackburn.com

Member News: Lancashire businesses join forces to open new offices at a Chorley business park

Six Lancashire companies have pooled resources to create their own office complex at Moorland Gate Business Park in Chorley. The new iTEAM Office, based in Ascot House, was officially launched on the 19th July at a networking event attended by businesses from across the county and the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

Director of IP Advance and one of the founders of the iTEAM Office, Andy Poar, said, ‘As a small business owner it’s easy to feel isolated, and working from home is not always the best or most productive environment either.  Having our own office is great as we’ve now got the advantage of being part of a virtual team. We’re able support one another, promote each others’ services and share costs too.

‘It’s also proved to be very popular with our customers, as they’re now able to access a number of key business services at the one location.’

The new office is home to The IT Dept, Interezia, CIC Solutions, Rock Energy Solutions, IP Advance and Primary Graphics.  All six businesses are also members of the Let’s Do Business networking group and feel the new office will strengthen their relationships further. Read More »
