My Networking week kicked off with a cold damp drive to the East Lancs Chamber offices in Clayton le Moors. However the welcome was very warm. Chrissy Pilkington greeted and introduced me to early arrivals.
We sat down in the conference room and were introduced to the event sponsor, iTeam Lancs. Andy Poar delivered a short, sharp punchy overview of the iTeams service offering.
Andy explained how iTeam, a group of some of the North West’s leading technology professionals, provide small businesses with access to services usually only available to large companies. And because the iTeam are independent consultants and not tied to any suppliers, they will always offer you the best solution, at the right price and with the highest levels of customer service.
Their services cover •Web Solutions ▪Information Management •IT Support Team ▪Telecoms Specialist •Energy Manager.
A member of the iTeam recently repaired my PC after being referred to them.
As light snow fell in Clayton le Moors Jim Akrill, Partner and MD of PM + M Chartered Accountants highlighted the four stages of consideration for attracting funding for your business.
Using a mixture of direct questions, quizzes and practical examples Jim walked us through his presentation.
A large part of securing funding is common sense and knowing where to look for funding. Jim’s team can add the finishing touches to your proposal by critiquing and coaching you before submitting an application. And of course PM + M Chartered Accountants provide all the other ancillary services to help you and your business develop and grow.
Jim fielded some questions at the end and also chatted informally before putting away his notes.
Chrissy Pilkington concluded the meeting by selecting two attendees to deliver their pitch before she gave out a door prize.
I was able to share my product offering with Tony Sharp (Electronic Security Systems) and Paulo Farinha (LED bulbs online). I will be meeting with Paulo as well as referring him to one of my trusted contacts for telecommunications services.
Thanks to Chrissy, Barbara and the Chamber for facilitating this opportunity to ‘network’ and gain more insightful knowledge. In my opinion, a Great use of 60 minutes.
